The Randolph Kiwanis Freedom Parade - one of the largest Fourth of July parades in New Jersey and a great annual tradition in Randolph - is organized and run each year by our all-volunteer, not-for-profit Randolph Kiwanis Club in partnership with Randolph Township.
The Freedom Parade celebrates the Freedom we cherish as Americans and honors the men and women in uniform who have served, and those who now are serving, our great nation.
Each year the Freedom Parade kicks off at the Mount Fern Methodist Church (443 Quaker Church Road, Randolph, NJ 07869), proceeds down Quaker Church Road, makes a right onto Center Grove Road, crosses Route 10 and finishes at the lower parking lot of the County College of Morris in Randolph.
In addition to award-winning marching bands and musical groups, the Freedom Parade features active and retired military units including the NJ Army National Guard, Picatinny Arsenal, the Tin Can Sailors, Randolph Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 7333, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 327 and the Forty & Eight Morris County Voiture of the American Legion. The Freedom Parade always begins with the Presentation of the Colors.
Appearing in 2013 for the first time as Lead Color Guard was a unit of the United States Marine Corps - Golf Company of the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines. In 2012, the Freedom Parade hosted the 78th Army Band - the largest military band in New Jersey. In 2014, our Grand Marshal was Harry Ettlinger - the real life monuments man.
The Freedom Parade also has a strong historical focus and includes Revolutionary War and Civil War re-enactment and "living history" units.
Community groups showcased in the Freedom Parade have included the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, the Salvation Army, martial arts groups and many more. The Freedom Parade also has featured Clydesdale horses, military and vintage vehicles, clowns and other attractions.
Members of the community who want to be Patriot Sponsors of the Randolph Kiwanis Freedom Parade, which relies on donations from businesses and individuals, can do so by mailing a check made payable to Randolph Kiwanis Freedom Parade, PO Box 106, Mt. Freedom, NJ 07970.
